The biggest Multi-Purpose Centre of its kind anywhere in the country, the Epauto Adventist Multi-Purpose Centre was officially opened last Friday, before it was packed by an approximate 4,000 Adventists of Efate District last Saturday (Sabbath), to witness the ordination of two new pastors.

They were Pastor Alon Ben of Tanna and Pastor Pierre Ludvaun of Malekula.

Costing Vt84 million, the steel structure and its roof was funded by local Adventist Churches, Trans Pacific Union Mission in Fiji and South Pacific Division in Australia.

Secretary of the Vanuatu Mission, Pastor Charlie Jimmy confirms, “Yes, it is the biggest in the country given that it is spacious and it can accommodate any kind of activities including meetings, conferences and weddings and indoor sports like volleyball, basketball, futsal, netball and badminton.

“We estimate that it can cater for a sitting capacity of 5-6,000 people”.

Asked whether it can be hired by other Christian denominations and NGOs and Governments, Pastor Jimmy agrees and adds, “If anyone wants to do a booking, please call Vanuatu SDA Mission on 22157 and speak to Monique Moses, the receptionist who keeps a logbook of all bookings. She will advise the interested group if it is available and at what rates”.
