Ben returns

DG of Trade, Roy Mickey Joy welcomes Ben Joseph(centre) and his qualification witnessed by HR

Senior Finance Officer of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism, Cooperatives and Industry and ni Vanuatu Business, Ben Joseph has returned home after successfully completing a Public Sector Administration Training Course in Singapore.

He was invited into the Office of the Director General, Roy Mickey Joy, to be congratulated for his success as he has proved to his Singaporean trainers that participants from small developing countries including Vanuatu do throw their heart into such training to assist with the development of their countries.

Joseph speaks highly of the training course saying it has been designed to benefit those who are prepared to put their mind and soul into it. “Participants from a number of countries could not meet their requirements and were thus sent home while the training was in progress”, he says.

As a first time student to Singapore, Joseph says you have to be there in order to believe what you see in one of the cleanest countries in the world.

New arrivals by air simply throw their briefcases on the carpet and take a nap without a problem as the floor is spritely clean.

He says in Singapore the secret of the Asian country’s success is that whatever they have they manage carefully and live by the laws of the land.

Asked if his opinion Vanuatu has the spirit to emulate Singapore, he replies, “It is possible to become like them but it all boils down to the political will of our leaders”.
