DG Cherol Ala says Penama Provincial Council has moved to Luganville

By Len Garae

The Penama Provincial Government Council has relocated to Luganville this week.

Director General of Internal Affairs Cherol Ala made the announcement in her address to Ambaean leaders at a meeting with senior representatives of the island and Henry Vira and the Ambae Manaro Disaster Committee at Sarabulu Church of Christ Church yesterday.

She said the Government decision to move the Council to Luganville is important since the majority of the volcano victims are located in Care Centres in the Northern Town.

Meanwhile the Acting VMF Commander monitoring the level of volcanic activity on their island has called on all Ambaeans to starting buying lands for a “second home” on other islands particularly Santo and Efate.

With the unpredictability of the situation on Ambae, he is appealing to the entire population of Ambae to use the current tragedy to work on a “second option” for a “second home” on another island.
