A delegation led by President of New Caledonia, Phillippe Germain arrived in Port Vila yesterday.
“We are here to enhance long term trade relations between Vanuatu and New Caledonia, as well as in education and other areas,” President Germain told local press on his arrival.
He paid courtesy calls on Prime Minister Charlot Salwai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Commerce and Tourism, Bob Loughman, and the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Internal Affairs Andrew Napuat yesterday afternoon.
According to the official program prepared by the French Embassy, signing of Agreements between President Germain and the Vanuatu Government will take place at 9.30am today, followed by a press conference.
The president will also visit Minister of Education, Jean Pierre Nirua and the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie.
President Germain and his delegation will be in Vanuatu until Sunday.
