A Ni-Vanuatu man was arrested last Friday, after he was caught smuggling marijuana into the country from New Caledonia.
Police say the man was detained and released the following day.
He is expected to appear in Court later this month.
In related news, two men were also arrested for marijuana possession, over the weekend at Etas area.
Police continue to remind public on the rise of this dangerous drug. They say reducing the use of marijuana is everybody’s business.
Community leaders and parents are urged to talk to their children and youth, encouraging them to stay away from this drug to be on the safe side.
Consumption of marijuana may contribute to users getting involved in other criminal activities, police say.
