China’s new Chancellery to open July 30

By Len Garae

China’s Vice Foreign Minister, Zheng Zeguang, has said China’s Chancellery at Number 3 will be opened on July 30, to coincide with the country’s 37th anniversary as well as the signing of diplomatic relations between the two countries 35 years ago.

The Vice Foreign Minister also assures Acting Prime Minister, Ham Lini, that China is opening its doors to welcome Vanuatu products into the Chinese market.

The assurance also coincides with the call by the Minister of Home Affairs, Alfred Maoh to the ni-Vanuatu Art & Craft Association at the launching of its constitution this week, for artists to increase production of their products to meet increasing local demand for “Made in Vanuatu” items as well as for the export market.

The Department of Tourism also is pushing ni-Vanuatu manufacturers and artists to increase their productions in Port Vila and in the islands.
