All the 52 Members of Parliament will for the first time in 26 years have a computer each installed in their office at the Parliament House, by the end of July.
Acting Clerk of Parliament, Leon Teter, informed Daily Post that having MPs in this legislature who are well educated and are computer literate is one of the main reasons that has pushed the Parliamentary Secretariat to purchase computers for them.
The Acting Clerk also said on the other hand, some of the MPs have requested the Parliamentary Secretariat to get computers for them.
Vira Josiah, Parliament's ICT Officer confirmed that once the computers are installed, they will be connected to the Internet so the MPs may use it to facilitate their projects as well as use internet to do their works.
The Parliamentary Secretariat has issued invitation towards tender for interested bidders to acquire 58 new Computers for the MPs and staff of Parliament.
The tender process should be completed by the end of June towards beginning of July and by the end of July the computers should be installed, according to Mr. Josiah.
