MOET releases 2016 to 2018 Open Vemis Statistics Digest

MOET officially released the 2016 to 2018 Open VEMIS Statistical Digest

The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) has officially released the 2016 to 2018 Open VEMIS Statistical Digest.

This digest compiles and organises relevant data from all schools across Vanuatu, and will be used To help inform decision making.

Open VEMIS (Vanuatu Education Management Information System) is an initiative led by MoET, which – amongst other things – allows schools to upload relevant school data.

This is the first time Open VEMIS has been used to create a statistical digest.

The Director of Policy and Planning Unit, Serge Lewawa, said “the old system used aggregates, but now because we use Open VEMIS, the data we collect is a lot more accurate”.

The MoET urged schools to make sure that they provide not only accurate data, but also timely data.

“This data can be then used to properly make informed decision making.

“Knowledge is power, and both accurate and timely information is essential in helping us to make good decisions and achieve our goals,” said the ministry.

The MoET is committed to providing a student centered education that is accessible, relevant, sustainable, responsive and of good quality.

The digest will be produced annually.
