The Miss Vanuatu 2016 competition has been re-scheduled, said the President of the Miss Vanuatu, Michelle Bourie.
According to Ms Bourie, the beauty pageant was forced to re-schedule the Miss Vanuatu 2016 that was meant to be held on November 29 at the Convention Centre.
“As you may know, legal issues had risen and the Miss Vanuatu committee was obliged to wait for the decision of the government authorities to confirm the legitimacy of our committee and the name of Miss Vanuatu, it is now validated,” she said. There was recent confusion about who was responsible for the Miss Vanuatu competition to which Ms Bourie had to provide registration papers of the committee as a charitable association registered at the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission (VFSC) in March 2013 and its registration was renewed on an annual basis.
“But unfortunately, it is too late to do a campaign to promote the event long enough to be beneficiary for our sponsors, as it was expected to last 2 months,” said Ms Bourie.
She said the committee wants to satisfy their sponsors and the official date will be announced shortly through the media.
