The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, Fisheries and Biosecurity, Hosea Nevu, has instructed for the tractor on Maewo to be transported to Ambae.

This is to assist the people of Ambae settle on their return after the State of Emergency ended.

According to First Political Adviser, Fred Vurobaravu, the instruction for shipment of the tractor by the minister targets the rehabilitation of the livelihood of the people Ambae as they return to their homes.

This instruction also came on the heels of the Council of Ministers decision for the people of Ambae to be assisted with government services.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the department of agriculture is currently working on ways to assist the people of Ambae to resettle.

Minister Nevu is expected to visit the people of Ambae on their island in the near future.

The tractor on Maewo was used to plant vegetables and root crops for for evacuees on the island.

The initiative to take the tractor to the islands was done under former minister Matai Seremaiah.
