Mele road to be paved

It has been approved in the Rural Work Plan of 2019 for the Government to provide funding to improve the road connectivity of Mele community.

A proposed 1.2km road segment in the area will be paved with concrete.

The main road which starts from the Beach Bar, where tourists access ferry to Hideaway Island straight up to Pauni, end of the village.

The Minister of Health (MOH), Jack Norris, gave this good news to the people of Mele when he handed over two water tanks for the community this week.

He showed the Rural Work Plan of 2019 Handbook to chiefs, men and women attending the occasion as he made the announcement.

It requires over Vt500, 000 to complete the road works which will improve livelihoods and economy, he added.

The Rural Work Plan of 2019 outlines the government’s plans to develop infrastructure to improve the rural population standard of living.
