The Head of State, President Baldwin Lonsdale, has extended the appointment of Justice Daniel Fatiaki, the Judge in the Supreme Court of Vanuatu for a further two years.

On June 18, 2015 President Baldwin signed Order No. 66 of 2015, exercising the powers conferred on him by Article 47 (2) of the Constitution, and on the advice of the Judicial Commission, extend the appoint of Justice Daniel Fatiaki.

Justice Fatiaki will continue to be judge of the Supreme Court of Vanuatu for a period of two years beginning July 2, 2015.

The President’s approval of the extension of the appointment was recorded in the Government gazette on June 26, 2015.

Justice Daniel Fatiaki, a former Chief Justice of Fiji, who had been coming to Vanuatu and serving as an Appeal Court Judge, has served two years as Judge of the Supreme Court of Vanuatu and this extension means he will serve a further two-year term.
