Few of the jailed politicians have applied for parole and made their submissions last Friday.

The Daily Post is informed that these jailed politicians have served almost half of their sentence in the Correctional Facility which guarantees their release. Under the Parole Act, detainees may only be released on parole after serving half of their term in jail.

The Correctional Services authorities confirmed the eligible parole date for some of these detainees would be around the first week of April, however, it would be in the discretion of the Parole Board whether or not to approve nor deferred their request.
