The Green Confederation political party is targeting six seats in the next Port Vila Municipal Council (PVMC).

The President of the Green Port Vila Regional Committee, Jean Yves Malsungai, told the Daily Post yesterday that despite losing out on three seats in the last PVMC, the Green Party aims to secure six seats in the new PVMC in the municipal March election early this year.

He also confirmed that he will contest in the election, and the names of the other candidates will be made public shortly.

“This time, we aim to make sure that the Vt300,000 councillor funds will go to meet the community needs in the Wards that Green hopeful councillors will be elected in and to help lift the welfare of the people living in Port Vila,” said Malsungai.

“I assure the supporters and people of Port Vila that the Green Confederation Political Party will make a strong and positive come back in the upcoming municipal election.

Mr. Malsungai, who has taken over the leadership of the Green Port Vila Regional Committee President.
