The Vanuatu Government’s commitment to ban single use plastic shopping bags, polystyrene takeaway boxes and plastic straws will come into effect tomorrow — July 1, 2018.

Local craft makers are expected have their hands full to meet the growing demand for local baskets as plastic shopping bags are banned. Pictured are some of the talented, hardworking mothers at the Haos blong Handikraft and Mahitahi at the Seawall displaying some baskets. The Haos blong Handikraft and Mahitahi offer a rich variety of beautiful, traditional, ecofriendly baskets.
