The flight to Gaua on Sunday has been cancelled due to the rainy weather and that was a situation beyond their control.

Air Vanuatu confirmed that in response to a local tour guide's complaint raised in yesterday's Daily Post edition.

Daily Post has a copy of email from Air Vanuatu's Operations Co-ordination Centre (OCC) notifying the cancellation of the flight to Gaua. The email stated, "Due to bad weather conditions affecting the country – NF1266/1267 ZGU service has been cancelled."

The email from OCC continued, "Please reaccommodate disrupt passengers to next available flight and notify. Notify concern agent."

According to the local tour guide, they were not provided explanations  on the cancellation of the flight.

Air Vanuatu responded, "We were unable to contact some passengers to advice of the weather delay due to the fire at head office. We do apologize for any inconvenience caused but it was an exceptional situation."
