Schools across the country opened their doors for the 2019 academic year to students this week.

The Erakor Bilingual School is one of the schools that opened its door to more than 600 students early this week.

The program began with a sermon conducted by Ps. Josh Sakari who presented a moving speech.

He reminded parents and teachers that students are the future of the country and children should be the most important priority in a society or community.

Chairman of the School Council or School Community Association, (SCA), Joseph Sakari said that the school not only welcomed the new students but also new staff who have confirmed their commitment to be part of the bilingual academic program in 2019.

He said the school council wished to share their appreciation to five of its staff who have recently been posted to other schools.

Chairman Sakari acknowledged their support and commitment to the students of Erakor Bilingual school and wished them well in their journey to assist and support the children of Vanuatu in their education.

He also confirmed that the number of students enrolled has increased from last year.

Mr Sakari also welcomed its new Principal, Kalfau Kalsakau to the Erakor Bilingual School team.
