Correction

Daily Post wishes to apologise to the Taurakoto family for incorrectly stating that Mr. Peter Taurakoto was one of the five applicants that was shortlisted for the Ombudsman position, when it should have been Mr. Michael Taurakoto, Taurakoto senior’s son.

Mr. Taurakoto senior was Vanuatu’s third Ombudsman, succeeding Mr. Hannington Alatoa. He was appointed in 2005 by then President Kalkot Mataskelekele (also a former Ombudsman) and has since retired.

In related news, the correct name of another candidate who was in the pool of five who were shortlisted is Mrs. Hannaline Ilo, not Anolyn Hilo.
