First lot of donated food supplies with Coordinators Edson David(left) and Michael Lulu

Coordinators of the Manaro Disaster Emergency Food Supplies to the Food Tent at Sarabulu Church above Harbour View Restaurant, Edson David and Michael Lulu were photographed standing among the first bags of rice, cartons of water and Solomon Blue tinned tuna stored in the church yesterday.

They wish to thank Indigenous Lawyers for donating ten bags of rice, ten cartons of water and ten cartons of Solomon Blue tinned tuna.

“And we also wish to thank Mr. Howard Aru for donating two bags of rice, two cartons of water and Vt5,000 cash”, the Coordinators add.

Representatives of Government institutions and non-government organisations have dropped by to assure the coordinators that they will also contribute towards the food appeal.

The VANGO Executive wishes to advise its members that it has approved as of today Friday November 9 to start replenishing the Food Tent to feed 1,300 evacuees of Ambae’s Manaro Volcanic eruption.

The tent was empty last week and victims had been sent home without any food in their hands.

Speaking for the Media Association of Vanuatu Executive, Harold Obed encourages all media companies to contribute food towards the appeal.

Any willing individual from anywhere in the country is most welcome to contribute towards the appeal.
