Police in the capital are appealing for information to assist with their investigation on the death of the French national, identified as Fred Zaepfel, whose body was found in Port Vila Harbour on Saturday, March 31.

“If anyone has any information relating to the death of the expat, please come forward, the police urged.

“Come to the police station. The information you have may speed up the investigation process.”

Acting Director in Charge of CID, Inspector Jack Joses confirmed that last Friday the court has lodged a request for a coroner to perform an autopsy on the deceased’s body to be able to determine the cause of his dead.

Arrangements are underway to have a pathologist flown into the country.

At this stage, police cannot disclose further details pending investigation.
