Ralph Regenvanu

MP for Port Vila, Ralph Regenvanu, has purchased 1 million vatu worth of rice to assist needy families in his constituency of Port Vila and in surrounding peri-urban areas.

The decision to spend the 1 million vatu on rice was made at a consultation meeting Monday between the MP and community leaders representing communities in all wards of Port Vila Municipality and also surrounding peri-urban areas from Salili to Teouma.

The rice is meant to supplement the food rations and other relief supplies already being provided by the Government, and is part of the initial relief assistance MP Regenvanu is providing to his constituency. With the Government agreeing to advance the release of 500,000 vatu of MP allocation funds next week and another 500,000 vatu in April, the MP is preparing to provide further reconstruction assistance to his constituents in the coming weeks and months.
