ANZ Chief Executive Officer Rufus Pinto (left) hands over a cheque sponsorship of 2.5 million vatu to VTO General Manager, Mrs Adela Isacchar Aru, witnessed by VTO Board Chairman Robert Avio, VTO Marketing Manager, Allan Kalfabun, ANZ Relationship Manager Anthony Palmer, and Caroline M Kipe ANZ Customer Advocate and Executive Assistant to Mr Pinto.

Plans are well underway to make this year’s Tok Tok Vanuatu from August 28 to September 1 in top notch, tying-in with the National Year of Agri-Tourism and International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development, as recognized by the United Nations World Tourism Organization.

On Thursday June 8, a handing over ceremony between the ANZ Bank, Tok Tok Vanuatu’s major sponsor, and the Tok Tok committee, took place in the Vanuatu Tourism Office (VTO) conference room. A cheque of 2 million vatu was handed over by the ANZ Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to the committee.

The ANZ CEO, Mr Rufus Pinto, remarked, “Because tourism touches all three dimensions of sustainable development which are the people, the economy, the culture and environment, I believe this is why ANZ feels proud to continue to be the main ‘bigfala’ sponsor for Tok Tok every year as we are contributing to something that is significant for Vanuatu across the board.

“When an industry such as tourism does well, we know that this has flow on effects to other areas such as agriculture, infrastructure and even to our small business sector where locally-owned businesses such as food vendors and market stalls can benefit and grow.”

Mr Pinto adds further, “We’ve been a sponsor of this event for 14 years and we are proud to be associated with this event once again.

“I’d like to thank the VTO and the organising committee of Tok Tok Vanuatu for the privilege of this partnership, and we look forward to another successful event this year.”

The General Manager of VTO, Mrs Adela Issachar Aru, stated, “We are all so proud of where we live, where we come from, and what we do.

“We should take every opportunity to showcase Vanuatu to our visitors by sharing what they have seen, tasted and experienced and become Ambassadors for Vanuatu.

“Having ANZ come in as the major sponsor again this year, for the 2017 Tok Tok, is an assurance that Tok Tok Vanuatu 2017 will be about Vanuatu’s uniqueness and how special this is for visitors, investors, and the people of this country.”

Tok Tok Vanuatu 2017 committee would like to sincerely acknowledge ANZ Bank Vanuatu for the strong and ongoing support over the years in promoting Vanuatu to the world.

Bigfala tankiu tumas!
