The Opportunity
The Pro Vice-Chancellor will be responsible to: Coordinate and
prepare the campus academic plan in line with the University’s
Strategic Plan; oversee the Campus Academic Plan, programmes
and courses optimising access to flexible learning; promote and
articulate the University’s Vision and Mission, with ethical leadership
and transparency; represent the campus and university to the
stakeholders; coordinate an environment conducive to promoting
academic excellence; ensure the formulation of key performance
indicators for academic programmes; ensure full engagement
working with the government to identify research and development
needs, including securing external research funding; work with
faculties, supporting accreditation for all programmes offered at the
Campus.
The Person We Seek
To be considered for this position, applicants must have: A PhD
in Agriculture and Food Technology and significant teaching and
research accomplishments to support a professorial appointment
at a level commensurate with the role of Pro Vice-Chancellor. The
successful applicant will also demonstrate: Thorough knowledge
and understanding of project, budget and financial management;
commitment to collaboration and teamwork; experience of
flexible learning and innovative pedagogies; a demonstrated
ability to work in a multi-cultural environment; knowledge of staff
hiring procedures; ability to negotiate and manage contractual
arrangements.
Remuneration
The position is available for a term of 5 years and may be renewed
by mutual agreement.
Salary Range: The University will provide a competitive remuneration
package to the successful applicant.
The University also contributes 10% of basic salary to an approved
superannuation scheme, and provides airfare and relocation costs
where appropriate.

LECTURER/ SENIOR LECTURER
IN ENGLISH (LANGUAGE AND

The Opportunity
The appointee will be required to teach to English Language and
Literacy and be involved in other curriculum studies and teacher
education courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She/
he is expected to conduct research and contribute to research work
at the faculty, engage in consultancy work, develop and present
online courses using the online platform. The successful applicant
will contribute to English language and literacy education courses
within the Primary/Secondary teacher education programmes. She/
he will also work with a team developing new programmes in this
area.
The Person We Seek
To be considered for this position, applicants must have: A PhD
qualification in English (Language & Literacy); qualified teacher
status; a proven record of successful teaching and course
development at school and tertiary levels; relevant teaching
experience in a second language context where English is the
medium of instruction; demonstrated expertise in at least one of the
following areas: English for teachers of English, language awareness
for teachers, bilingual education, ESL in the mainstream genre and
process approaches to writing, literature in the ESL classroom as
well as reading theories and processes. For appointment at the
Senior Lecturer level you must have a strong record of published
research in top-tier journals and books with either a formal tertiary
teaching qualification or significant tertiary teaching experience.

FACULTY OF BUSINESS AND ECONOMICS
School of Accounting and Finance - LBF013
The Opportunity
The appointee will teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate
courses in one or more of the core areas of accounting i.e. Financial
Accounting, Auditing, Management Accounting, Information
Systems or Forensic Accounting. She/he will be expected to
contribute to teaching through the various modes offered by
the University. The appointee will also conduct individual and
collaborative research leading to outputs in ranked accounting
journals and participate in administrative and marketing activities of
the School when required.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have: A PhD
in Accounting from a recognised University; significant tertiary
teaching experience; a demonstrated and active interest in
research work; experience in tertiary teaching and/or research
supervision at the postgraduate level. For appointment at the Senior
Lecturer level you must have a strong record of published research
in top-tier journals and books with either a formal tertiary teaching
qualification or significant tertiary teaching experience.

The Opportunity
The appointee will contribute to the teaching of undergraduate
courses across the Biology curriculum and will be expected to
contribute to the online courses (development). The incumbent will
contribute to the School’s postgraduate programmes, supervise
research students, and will be expected to undertake research
in his/her area of expertise. The appointee will also be expected
to successfully attract research grants (from internal & external
sources) in the thematic area of research and support the Faculty
and University’s mission and goals as set out in the University’s
Strategic Plan. The appointee will also assist with other tasks
assigned by the Head of School.
The Person We Seek
To be considered for this position, applicants must have: A PhD
degree in Environmental Microbiology or related field; good
research publications in ranked journals; relevant tertiary teaching
experience (4 years) at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
and/or formal tertiary teaching qualifications; ability to teach a range
of standard topics in Microbiology/Biology; excellent written and
oral communication skills in English.
Remuneration

LECTURER/ SENIOR LECTURER IN
ACCOUNTING (2 POSITIONS)

The Opportunity
In this role, you will teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses,
teach and conduct research and consultancies on Assessment and
Evaluation and contribute to other education courses. You will also
supervise postgraduate projects and thesis students. You will be
expected to provide academic leadership in programme evaluation,
staff development training in various aspects of assessment at both
school and institutional levels.
The Person We Seek
A PhD qualification in Educational Assessment and Evaluation
with strong evaluation skills; tertiary teaching experience and
supervision of research students; a good research and publications
record. Applicants must also have either a formal tertiary teaching
qualification or good relevant tertiary (normally an aggregate of 4
years) teaching experience for lecturer level significant (normally 10
years) tertiary teaching experience for Senior Lecturer or Associate
Professor level. For appointment at the Associate Professor level,
there is also a requirement for academic excellence which may
be evidenced by an outstanding contribution to teaching and/or
research and/or scholarship.
Remuneration
The position is available for a term of 5 years and may be renewed
