The Opportunity
This position has immediate responsibility for the
university properties and facilities at Emalus campus
and centers throughout Vanuatu. He/she will ensure
the highest possible level in service delivery in
terms of managed Estates and Infrastructure, OHS,
ensuring at all times that university requirements
are followed. The Coordinator is also responsible for
the management of all staff within the Estates and
Infrastructure Department, covering grounds, security
and cleaning personnel.
The Person We Seek
To be considered for this position, applicants must
have: Postgraduate qualifications or progress
towards postgraduate qualifications in civil/structural
engineering, construction, architecture or relevant
field and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
managing infrastructure and estate maintenance OR
an equivalent combination of relevant experience
and/or education/training; experience in multitasking
and within tight deadlines; sound knowledge of
computer systems; experience and competency in
MS Office tool; a strong customer service orientation;
good inter-personal skills; strong supervisory skills.
Remuneration
The position is available for a term of 3 years and may
be renewed by mutual agreement.
Salary Range: VUV 3,396,190 to VUV 4,173,761 per
annum (Inclusive of 15% Gratuity)

FACULTY OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY &
ENVIRONMENT
School of Biological and Chemical Sciences
– VSG002
The Opportunity
The appointee will teach undergraduate courses
at the USP Vanuatu Campus offered by the School
of Biological and Chemical Sciences by face to
face and/or online modes and participate in lab
demonstrations /tutorials. Duties include, but are
not limited to: running laboratory classes, marking
lab activities, assignments and project reports whilst
also contributing towards faculty/campus outreach
activities.
The Person We Seek
To be considered for this position, applicants must
have: For Teaching Assistant in Band 1 level: A good
postgraduate diploma in Science (Biology) with a
GPA of at least 4.0 and a good first Degree (BSc). For
appointment at the Teaching Assistant Band 2 level,
applicants must also have a Master’s in Science
(Biology) with some tertiary teaching experience and
progress towards attaining Postgraduate Certificate
in Tertiary Teaching (PGCTT) or equivalent. Applicants
must be citizens of one of the USP member countries.
Remuneration
The position is available for a fixed term of 3 years.
Salary Range:
TA Band 1:
VUV 1,756,824 to VUV 2,052,504 per annum
TA Band 2:
VUV 2,164,907 to VUV 2,400,271 per annum

The position of Laboratory Technician is created to
work as part of a team responsible for the day-today operation of the Science Laboratory under the
supervision of the Science Programme Coordinator,
to provide technical support for the delivery of the
laboratory practical work in courses at degree levels.
The Person We Seek
To be considered for this position, applicants must
have: Diploma in Industrial Lab Technology/ Bachelors
of Science or equivalent; at least 3 years’ experience
working in a similar tertiary teaching environment;
must be able to swim.
Remuneration
The position is available for a term of 3 years and may

STUDENT LEARNING SPECIALIST
(SCIENCE)
FACULTY OF SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY AND

The Opportunity
The Student Learning Specialist will be responsible
for assisting students at the Emalus Campus to
achieve their goals through providing study skills, one
on one consultation and mentoring.The appointee
will: Tutor academic skills for the at-risk students;
provide mentoring support to staff and students;
produce quarterly newsletters for the Faculty;
design, implement and evaluate the operations of
the Mentoring Programme for students studying
in different modes of delivery; participate in the incountry science programme in the region; research,
review and produce resources for student academic
support; evaluate and action research on student
progression and success in distance education.
The Person We Seek
To be considered for this position, applicants must
have: A good first Bachelor’s degree in Science;
a Postgraduate Diploma or equivalent level of
qualification in a relevant area; experience in tertiary
or upper high school teaching.
Remuneration
The position is available for a fixed term of 3 years.

LABORATORY ATTENDANT
FACULTY OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY &
ENVIRONMENT

The Opportunity
The position of Lab Attendant is created to assist
in the provision for and setting up of laboratory
practical classes and experiments in the Campus
laboratory facilities. The appointee will assist in the
smooth operation of teaching and research activities
by ensuring the availability of sufficient clean, dry
glassware and other equipment, maintaining a
neat, clean and safe working environment in the
preparation area, restocking shelves and issuing /
collection of glassware and other laboratory items to
students.
The Person We Seek
To be considered for this position, applicants must
have: At least Year 12 secondary school certificate
OR equivalent of expertise gained from a combination
of experience and training; at least six months
experience of working in a laboratory, preferably in
a teaching laboratory; knowledge of OHS; experience
in the safe handling of corrosive cleaning materials
such as bleach and detergents; good oral and written
English language skills; good inter-personal skills.
Remuneration
The position is available for a term of 3 years and may
be renewed by mutual agreement.
Salary Range: PHP Step 6 - VUV 315.81 per hour
